FVL digitalisation continues apace
05 Dec 2024
The 2024 Release of the Odette-ECG FVL Messages, integrating the latest requirements from BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Renault, Stellantis and Volvo Cars is now available. Those messages cover the latest supply chain and regulatory changes such as the specific transport and customs requirements of some Central European countries.
Odette has also developed some prototype digital messages to support the reporting of transport emissions as described in the Supply Chain Emissions Calculation and Reporting Guideline which establishes a standard method of calculating and reporting emissions generated by road and rail transport (for both inbound parts supply and outbound vehicle distribution). Pilots between LSPs and OEMs are currently underway to test the recommended methods and we are eagerly awaiting feedback on the suitability of our messages.
The desire of the FVL industry for more digitalisation and with EU regulations about to bite, the invoicing process between the OEMs and the LSPs is the next topic in the spotlight for collaboration between Odette and ECG. Building on our 40 years of expertise in eInvoicing and the experience acquired in adapting the EU standard invoice to the needs of the inbound supply chain we will start work to gather FVL industry requirements in January 2025.
Facing up to Emissions Reporting and eInvoicing Regulatory Challenges will be on the agenda at Odette2025 Conference in May in Bratislava.
